NTUNGAMO – Up to 15 outstanding entrepreneurs and industrialists in Uganda are set to be awarded for their contribution to Uganda’s economic transformation, job creation, and industrial growth at the Mustard Seed Awards that will be hosted at Africa Coffee Park, Ntungamo District, on Saturday, 24 January 2026.
The event will be officiated by President Yoweri Museveni as part of his third project inspection visit to Africa Coffee Park.
Entrepreneurs set to be awarded include Amosi Nzeyi, Sudhir Ruparelia, Barbara Mulwana, Gaster Lule, Paul Zhang, Omar Mandela, Aisha Monpara, Hao Zhang, Sikander Lalani, Barak Orland, Emmanuel Katongole, Joseph Yiga, Idro Taban, Jennifer Mwijukye, and Florence – Landy Industries Limited.
During the project visit, President Museveni will also tour the Fertiliser Production Plant located on the shores of Lake Nyabihoko, and after the tour, the head of state will address the “Unstoppable Victory” rally, organised to celebrate his recent victory. The rally will also feature NRM leaders and top musicians, according to the Coffee Park publicist, Duncan Abigaba.
Africa Coffee Park, Ntungamo, is a 150-acre state-of-the-art industrial hub positioned to become the largest coffee processing and value-addition centre in Central and Eastern Africa.
The project key features include an advanced freeze-dry technology for premium instant coffee, production of coffee beauty and cosmetic products, development of coffee-based energy drinks, an integrated model combining manufacturing and tourism, and a fertiliser production plant.
The Park is the anchor project of a planned USD 500 million Coffee City, which will host multiple allied industries, innovation hubs, and tourism infrastructure.
Strategic National Importance
The project is aligned with Uganda’s 4th National Development Plan (NDP IV 2025/26–2029/30).
With coffee identified as one of six priority agricultural value chains for value addition, the project aims to shift Uganda from a bulk coffee exporter to a high-value coffee producer and increase Uganda’s coffee value from USD 2 billion to USD 5 billion by 2030.
During his re-election victory speech on Sunday, 19th January, President Museveni told his guests that he intends to support investors to enhance the tax base and improve the roads, education, and health services.
“In the coming kisanja(term), we shall have two categories of efforts. Category one is supporting the rich because many Ugandans are now rich. The ones with commercial firms, the ones with factories, hotels, including the foreigners who are coming with factories. We shall continue supporting them through Uganda Development Bank and other instruments. Now, as we speak, 70% of homesteads are in the money economy.” He said
