MBARARA – Muslim devotees in Mbarara city have been called upon to observe special respect for both religious and the ruling government leaders if they want Allah to bless the work of their hands.

The call was made by Sheikh Umar Muceri while speaking at Global High School grounds as thousands of Muslims gathered to mark the end of their Ramadan month in the Eid al-Fitr prayers.

“Allah wants us to respect our leaders right away from the President of the Republic of Uganda and be obedient to them if we want our prayers to be answered with blessings,” Sheikh Muceri urged.

He further asked all Muslims to continue exhibiting good discipline as shown during the month of Ramadan.

“There are people who are going to stop praying to Allah since the month of Ramadhan is over. Please, don’t stop, I urge you to remain praying, continue being good to other people and avoid fueling conflicts in the communities you come from,” added Sheikh Muceri.

Sheikh Abdall Mukwaya, Mbarara district Khadi, in an interview with Tayari asked the Mbarara city vendors who have been evicted from the streets to remain calm and accept the change since it is happening in major towns in Uganda.

“We need to accept that change has come, let’s remain calm and look for other means on how and where we can still do our businesses without running into battles with authorities.” Said Mukwaya.

He, however, challenged the government to ensure that the vendors being chased off the streets get convenient places where they can run their businesses effectively.
