Beloved brothers and sisters in Christ,
Many people today ask, “What do I gain if I go to church, and what do I lose if I stay home?” The answer is this: when believers gather together, we do not merely attend a service – we come into the presence of God as His family.
In church, we worship together, hear the Word of God, encourage one another, pray together, and grow spiritually.
The Bible reminds us in Hebrews 10:25 not to neglect meeting together. A Christian who constantly separates himself from fellowship gradually becomes spiritually weak, just as a charcoal removed from the fire slowly loses its heat.
Of course, there are times when one may genuinely miss church – because of sickness, unavoidable work, travel, family emergencies, or other serious reasons.
God understands our circumstances. But there is a difference between unavoidable absence and a careless habit of neglecting God’s house. When attending church no longer matters to us, our spiritual life begins to drift.
Let us also remember that not every place calling itself a church truly belongs to Christ. A true church is built on the Word of God, faithful teaching, prayer, holiness, and obedience to Jesus Christ. No church belongs to a man, a founder, or a pastor. Every true church belongs to Christ alone, for He is the Head of the Church.
Therefore, let us remain faithful in gathering with fellow believers in a Christ-centered church where the truth of God is preached. Come to worship not simply out of routine, but with gratitude, expectation, and love for the Lord who first loved us.
May God strengthen His Church and keep us faithful.
Love and blessings to you all!
